Production Coordinator – Welding

Position Overview
The Production Coordinator (Welding) is responsible for ensuring the optimal flow of production activities and managing the work team. The role ensures targets and deadlines are met while maintaining quality standards and technical specifications. It also focuses on optimizing daily operations while minimizing costs and ensuring compliance with procedures and health & safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set daily, weekly, and monthly objectives and communicate them to team leaders
- Assist in organizing workflow by assigning production orders, managing changes, and setting priorities
- Review and approve employee timesheets
- Communicate with employees, union representatives, HR, and management
- Act as a liaison between departments and follow up on technical issues
- Support employees in achieving their goals through coaching and technical guidance
- Supervise, train, and evaluate employees and team leaders
- Participate in disciplinary management, including writing reports
- Promote employee well-being and engagement
- Submit production and performance reports using designated digital tools
- Supervise and evaluate production processes to maximize efficiency
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements
- Ensure safe use and maintenance of equipment
- Inspect products before painting to ensure labeling accuracy and quality standards
- Enforce company policies, including health & safety and workplace conduct
- Perform other related duties
Required Qualifications
- Technical diploma in welding, metal fabrication, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in metal fabrication
- Experience in MIG/MAG welding
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Experience with CNC machinery (bending) is an asset
- Experience supervising teams
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of workplace health & safety standards
Assets
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of metal production equipment
- Experience in production coordination or management
- Forklift or overhead crane certification
- Knowledge of ERP systems, Smartsheet, SharePoint
- Familiarity with fitness equipment
