Position overview: The Production Supervisor (Assembly/Stockroom) is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of production activities and managing the work team. This role ensures targets are met, deadlines are respected, and products meet quality standards and technical specifications. The supervisor also ensures compliance with procedures, workplace rules, and health & safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Set daily, weekly, and monthly objectives and communicate them to team leaders
- Organize workflow by assigning work orders, managing changes, and setting priorities
- Ensure departmental deadlines are met
- Supervise and evaluate each stage of the production process for maximum efficiency
- Identify inefficiencies and propose improvements
- Plan and maintain product inspections and implement quality control systems
- Coordinate equipment maintenance with team leaders
- Ensure safe use of tools and equipment
- Maintain open communication between employees, union representatives, and management
- Support employees in achieving goals through coaching, tools, and technical guidance
- Supervise employees and manage disciplinary matters in collaboration with HR
- Promote employee well-being and engagement
- Prepare reports on production, performance, and progress
- Support training and continuous improvement initiatives
- Enforce company policies, especially health & safety regulations
- Ensure compliance with workplace conduct rules and participate in disciplinary actions
- Perform other related duties
Required Qualifications
- Degree in administration, management, industrial engineering, or equivalent
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in French
- Excellent computer skills (especially Microsoft Excel)
- Experience in production and personnel management in a unionized environment
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Results-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement

Assets
- Ability to communicate in English

- Practical knowledge of machining and manufacturing methods; ability to read technical drawings
- Good physical condition (standing and lifting up to 55 lbs when required)
