The Power Squat Pro (PW611) has arrived
If you have ever walked into a gym, you have probably trained on Atlantis machines. And if there were Atlantis machines, you almost certainly spotted Atlantis’ Power Squat (C111). A staple in our catalog for years and one of our flagship products, this machine is among our most-used – robust, reliable, and precise in its movement path.
It is a favorite among club owners, professional trainers, and athletes at every level. This is no accident – it is the result of our complete design process, fully developed and validated in our Canadian facilities. But at Atlantis, we never stop at what works – we keep searching for ways to improve. And it is that same commitment that led to the creation of the PW611 – Power Squat Pro.
Observation as a principle of improvement
The PW611 was not born from a drawing board. Its design began in the flagship gym that doubles as a testing ground for the Laval factory, where we observed hundreds of users training on the C111. Raymond Sansoucy – the founder of Atlantis, 1979 Canadian bodybuilding champion and machine designer for over 40 years – oversaw every step of the process.
What he discovered was revealing: shorter users had to adapt to the machine and adjust their posture in order to reach the ideal position. The result: a risk of improper loading and poor form during the initial range of motion.
But after 40 years of engineering, machine design, field observation, and high standards, Atlantis Strength continues to stand out in the training equipment market by creating products that adapt to people – not the other way around.
All of the PW611’s advances are grounded in precise biomechanical observation. None of this was done for the sake of innovation – everything was optimized to enable a better user experience.
The dual starting position may be the most decisive addition. For shorter users, the difference between correct loading and compromised loading determines both performance and long-term injury risk. The PW611 eliminates that variable.
The six-position adjustable platform (from 6° to 26°) offers an unprecedented range of customization in this category.
The redesigned movement path is the result of weeks of biomechanical testing in our laboratory gym. The goal: to keep the spine in neutral alignment throughout the movement while preserving target muscle activation. This is a delicate balance that few manufacturers have the patience or expertise to achieve.

“The Power Squat Pro is not a replacement. It is a natural evolution of what is known, refined through real practice, real users, real feedback.” – Raymond Sansoucy
